Your privacy. Our responsibility.
How we handle inquiries, protect confidential documents, and respect your information.
Effective October 30, 2026. Carr Accounting Solutions ("we," "us," or "our") respects the privacy of people who contact us or use our website. This notice explains what information is handled through carraccountingsolutions.com, why it is used, and how to contact us with questions. It also explains how secure tax-document exchange differs from the public inquiry form.
1. Information we collect
Website inquiries. When you send a consultation request, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, email address, optional phone number, state, requested service, preferred contact method, general timeline, and the message you enter.
Website operations. Our hosting and form-processing providers may automatically process technical information needed to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the website, such as IP address, browser or device information, request times, and security or access logs.
Client information. If you become a client, tax, financial, and other records needed to provide agreed services may be collected through a separate, invitation-based client portal or another approved secure process. The public contact form is not used to collect these documents.
2. How we use information
We use website inquiry information to respond to requests, discuss potential services, determine whether an engagement is appropriate, communicate next steps, and maintain related business records. Technical information may be used to operate, maintain, and protect the website, prevent abuse, and investigate security issues. Client records are handled for the services agreed to with the client and applicable recordkeeping and legal obligations.
Sending a website inquiry does not by itself create an accountant-client relationship. A professional engagement begins only when its scope and terms have been agreed.
3. How information may be shared
Information may be processed by service providers that support our website, contact-form delivery, email communications, secure document exchange, accounting and tax workflows, or security and recordkeeping. These providers handle information in connection with the services they provide. We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or to protect the rights and security of our practice and clients as permitted by law.
Tax return information is subject to special federal confidentiality rules. We do not use or disclose it for unrelated purposes unless allowed by law or with any required taxpayer consent. This website notice does not replace any consent or privacy disclosure required for a particular tax engagement.
4. Secure documents and outside websites
Do not enter Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, passwords, tax returns, or other confidential financial details in the website inquiry form or ordinary email. Invited tax clients should use the secure client portal for requested documents. Portal sign-in takes place on a third-party service operated separately from this website; the service may present its own terms and privacy information. Links to outside websites are governed by those websites' own practices.
5. Cookies and analytics
At the effective date of this notice, this website does not intentionally load third-party advertising pixels or standalone marketing-analytics scripts. Hosting and security services may use technical measures necessary for site operation, security, and abuse prevention. If we add analytics, advertising tools, or other new tracking technology, we will update this notice as appropriate.
6. Security and storage
We aim to protect information through reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the services we provide. No website or electronic service can be guaranteed completely secure. Sensitive client documents should be shared through the secure process communicated for the engagement, not through the general inquiry form.
7. How long we keep information
We keep inquiry information for as long as reasonably needed to respond, manage our business relationship, maintain appropriate records, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal obligations. Client records may be subject to different retention periods under professional, contractual, or legal requirements. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete it or otherwise handle it in line with our retention practices and applicable law.
8. Your questions and choices
To ask about information you have submitted, request a correction, or discuss deletion where permitted by law, contact rcarr@carraccountingsolutions.com or call (252) 670-7061. We may need to confirm your identity and may retain certain information when required or permitted by law. Please do not include confidential tax records or account details in a regular email request.
9. Children's privacy
This website is intended for adults seeking professional tax or accounting services, not for children under 13. We do not intentionally solicit personal information from children through this website.
10. Updates to this notice
We may update this notice to reflect changes to the website, service providers, business practices, or applicable requirements. The updated notice and its effective date will be posted on this page.
